At TennisApp, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, make a reservation, or contact us for support. This may include: • Name and contact information • Account credentials • Payment information • Location data (with your consent) • Device information • Usage data and preferences
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: • Provide, maintain, and improve our services • Process transactions and send related information • Send you technical notices and support messages • Respond to your comments and questions • Analyze usage patterns and trends • Personalize your experience
Data Protection
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances: • With your consent • With service providers who assist in our operations (Firebase/Google, Apple, Google Play, payment providers) • With third-party AI services (see AI Services section below) — only after you explicitly consent • To comply with legal obligations • To protect our rights and safety • In connection with a business transfer
AI Services and Data Sharing
Our app includes an optional AI assistant feature that relies on third-party AI providers. Before you can use any AI feature, the app shows an explicit consent screen that discloses what data will be sent and to whom. If you do not consent, AI features remain fully disabled. Providers used: • Google Gemini (Google LLC) — primary AI provider. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy • OpenAI, L.L.C. — fallback AI provider. Privacy policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy Data sent to these providers when you use AI features: • Your chat messages and conversation history (last 10 messages for context) • Your username (for personalized responses) • Reservation details (court name, date, time) only when you ask the AI about bookings • Your language preference These providers process the data solely to generate AI responses and are contractually required to provide data protection equivalent to this policy. You can revoke your AI consent at any time from the app settings, which will immediately disable all AI features and stop any further data from being sent.
Location Data
Our app may request access to your device location to provide location-based features. Location access is always optional and only granted after you explicitly approve the operating system permission prompt. We only request foreground location — we never request background location permission, and the app cannot access your location while it is closed or backgrounded. When we collect location data: • While you are actively using the home screen of the app, your latest coordinates are refreshed periodically (approximately every 5 minutes) so that the club occupancy feature can determine whether you are currently inside the club. This refresh stops the moment the app goes into the background or is closed. • Once during onboarding, when you tap "Find clubs near me", to populate the initial club list. • On demand when you open the weather forecast for a court you are about to book. What we use location data for: 1. Club occupancy calculation — your distance to the club's coordinates is computed to determine whether you are physically at the club. This is what powers the "X people currently at the club" indicator on the home screen. 2. Finding tennis and padel clubs near your current position during onboarding. 3. Sorting club search results by distance. 4. Showing the local weather forecast for the court you are about to book. 5. Reverse-geocoding the coordinates into a city/country name shown in the UI. How your location is stored: • Your **latest** foreground latitude and longitude (with a timestamp) is stored in our Firebase Firestore database under your user document, in the field `location`. • Each refresh **overwrites** the previous value — we do not accumulate a movement history, and we do not keep older positions. • Only members of your own club (and admin users of that club) can read this field, governed by Firestore security rules. • When you log out, switch clubs, or delete your account, the field is removed. Who the data is sent to: • Firebase / Google Firestore (Google LLC) — our backend database where the latest location is stored. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy • OpenStreetMap Nominatim (reverse geocoding service) — coordinates are sent to convert them into a human-readable address. https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright • Open-Meteo (weather provider) — coordinates are sent to fetch the local weather forecast. https://open-meteo.com/en/terms What we do NOT do: • We do not request or use background location • We do not accumulate a movement history (only the most recent foreground position is stored, and it is overwritten on every update) • We do not share your location with advertisers • We do not sell your location data to anyone • We do not run geofencing or any persistent location tracking outside the app's foreground session You can revoke location permission at any time from your device settings (iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services / Android Settings → Apps → Permissions). When permission is revoked, the periodic update stops, the club occupancy feature stops including you in its count, and the rest of the app continues to function normally. You can also request deletion of any stored location field by contacting us at info@btennispadel.com.
